We are a relationship-based practice focussed on your child’s strengths and meeting them at their developmental level. We are passionate about partnering with families to become advocates for their children. We have experience with babies all the way though to adolescents.
Equipped with specialist training and a desire to make a difference, at Bare Feet OT, we focus on identifying the underlying causes of everyday challenges. We believe in addressing both the foundational skills as well as the noticeable difficulties.
Developmental Milestones
Early intervention can improve future outcomes. It is important to identify developmental delays that may impact future independence in activities of daily living. Delayed milestones may include not crawling, delayed sitting, walking and talking.
Self Care
Everyday life skills such as dressing, grooming, toileting, bathing and feeding.
Motor Skills
Fine and gross motor skills which may be impacting everyday activities such as fastening buttons and zippers, tying shoelaces, using eating utensils, playing on playground equipment, climbing up and down stairs.
Sensory Processing
How does your child makes sense of sensory information from their environment? They may over or under respond or not register it all, this may impact their development, behaviour and participation in everyday life skills.
Play and Social Skills
This refers to how children interact with others in social environments and at home. Play is a child’s main occupation and forms a foundation on which other learning skills develop.
Learning Skills
Visual perceptual skills as well as executive functioning skills such as planning, concentration, memory, problem solving, all contribute to your child’s ability to learn and take in new information, this can impact their academic performance and everyday independence.
Emotional Regulation
Managing emotions and behaviours is a complex and integral part of a child’s everyday life. There are many underlying skills which may impact a child’s ability to regulate their emotions.
